The past 18 months have been an absolute whirlwind for von Erck’s Classics, and the warm season is just upon us in the Northwoods. Spring ’23 update
During the 2019 pandemic and onwards, Lee ramped up production as much as possible. There has been no shortage of requests, and the business has consistently taken in orders. This trend has continued (not to historic levels) through till now. The sawdust factory has been consistently working through custom orders, repairs (on vEC pieces only), and new pieces as possible to be produced – most new pipes are sold by the time they are finished and out of the oil curing process if they are not intended from inception to be a custom made order. Estate pipes are easier to come by at this time, due to the process of procuring briar becoming much harder to navigate in the past few years. If you are interested in a specific pipe design from the website, please note that some designs require difficult to source briar sections, and production wait times may be significant currently.
2023 is a busy year for von Erck’s Classics. Lee is hard at work in the shop producing a slew of pieces and is still working directly with clients interested in artisan offerings. Many of the current projects are estate pipe restorations and preparations for sale to clients procured through the website and via vEC’s Facebook page. Certified von Erck Classic estate pipes that have been smoked by Lee have been laser engraved with “MINE” to signify this is the case. Some of them are seen in the documentary FTF. If it was in the movie, it has “FTF” added in laser engraving.
Website administration has led us to consider a different platform for hosting, etc. Administrators will be revamping the website and adding more features, including a feature that will allow chat users to talk to Lee in the shop and a more secure experience to browse all pipe creations. Some information and pictures for completed 2022 pieces still needs to be gathered and posted.
